Feeling deeply patriotic while experiencing the Lufthansa service, lounge, and business class.

Tiger Mom’s Funeral

This is the perfect example of raising conveyor belt children for a Fordist economy.

There is no longer such an economy. Raise and nurture your child and yourself like a rare flower that’s the last of its species in the galaxy. Do the exact opposite of that 84 hours plus tiger tutor crap.

The Actual Deportations

Against the background of no deportations for the millions that Biden brought in, this looks particularly charming.

Once again I ask, are we a country or a branch office of Israel? Why are we making a sacred cow out of Israel? This is happening just as we are doing everything on our power to install another Liberal government in Canada. Canada is closer culturally and geographically. Shouldn’t we care about it more?

Different Immigrants

There’s no likelihood that the Ukrainian-Canadian priest and his family will move to our area. They have a whole community there, and here there’s no community. Plus, they have very little English and no Anglo friends. I have absolutely no idea how one can swing that in 30 years of living in Canada but it’s a normal thing in Russophone immigrant communities. People emigrate physically but in no other way. If they didn’t manage to integrate into an Anglo culture in their twenties, what are the chances they’ll do so in their late forties?

The priest’s wife told me how she had a whole conversation with one Anglophone Canadian. It must be a rare occurrence if it’s so memorable. And she’s not unusual. Everybody in the community is like that. I emigrated because I wanted to be an Anglo among Anglos, so it’s hard for me to understand why people would emigrate at all if they are so into their own language and culture. It must be psychologically very onerous to be so at odds with the culture in which you live.

Benin vs Quebec

Yesterday I was years old when I discovered that I understand the French of Benin and Burkina Faso better than the French of Quebec. I wasn’t fluent but I had conversations. Opinions were exchanged. At no point was I mystified what language people were speaking.

Are They Robots?

This is so incredibly stupid. Not the tweet but the woman in the video.

Has this woman ever met people or is she a robot? I have a lot of stuff in my car that I don’t want anybody to touch. I have 3 different types of outerwear because our weather is nuts. I have spare sneakers and spare boots. Cutlery in case I need to feed my kid on the fly. Medication for several different stomach ailments which tend to strike exclusively on road trips. Books, toys, makeup, perfume. Snacks, blood sugar testing strips.

And of course not everyone is like that and travels with enough stuff to sustain life for a week in a situation where all exits from the vehicle are barred. Which is exactly my point. My car is my space. It’s not about just getting from point A to point B. It is an extension of my personality like the neighbor’s vehicle is an extension of his.

Besides, are we now completely past the fear of viral infections? It sounds like a terrible idea to have the entire neighborhood sit behind the same wheel within a short period of time. This is completely schizoid. First, we lock ourselves up for months and then all of a sudden it’s OK to exchange bodily fluids with half the neighbors on any given day.

In short, these smooth-brained bureaucrats should stay in their pods and not try to tell actual humans how to live.

Unelected Prime Minister

After appointing as Prime Minister a former banker whom nobody ever elected to anything, I hope Canadians temper their internationalist fervor and ask themselves what it is they feel so superior about when an unelected oligarch openly assume the highest office in the land.

The Expert Class

Not that the expert class is much better:

The difference, of course, is that the expert class is purposefully and cynically grifting to get paid. And the excitable plebs is emoting in order to get milked.

Two Flavors of Stupid

In the meantime, Democrats are reacting to Bernie Sanders gathering huge crowds:

Its very hard to blame Yarvin to giving up on democracy. The very very lowest common denominator rules the day, and people with a functioning brain are caught in the dysfunction created by undisciplined, emotive, wounded, and resentful idiots.
