How Are You Dealing With the Suspense?

I can’t take staring at the electoral map stupidly any longer. So I will battle the suspense by depositing myself in the bathtub with a new novel by John Grisham and a bunch of grapes. I hope they don’t turn sour by the time the bath is over and more election results are available.

  1. Unfortunately I’ll have to stay at work pretty late today. But I’ll do my regular office hours and talk to students and try resist the temptation of being glued to the electoral map.

    1. I know what you mean! I spent all day preparing classes to distract myself. Unfortunately, the classes are on the CIA coup in Guatemala and the economic crisis in Spain. Which keeps bringing me back to why this election matters so much.

  2. I’m on my second glass of wine, wolfing down a couple of baked potatoes while watching TV and on my laptop, with a periodic smoke break thrown in here and there. I felt really good earlier, but now I’m really anxious.

  3. The grapes are more likely to sour as a result of the low quality of Grisham’s new book,. Notice the huge print size and wide spaces. Grisham is out of ideas and writing trash for big money. Such a shame for the man who once could write ‘A Time to Kill.

    1. I have to agree with you. I used to like him a lot but each new book is a fresh disappointment. The most recent one is written in this very stilted language and is very carelessly edited, too.
