“Not before he learns to talk,” N said reasonably. “It wouldn’t make sense to give it to him before.”

LOL. found that super funny 🙂 I obviously don’t know N., but it sounds like he was very genuine and serious when he said that? But yes, that is very typical of what a scientists might say (and I don’t mean that as an insult, but rather as a fact that they often focus on logic and not a bunch of emotional reasoning)
