On one level it’s about saving money. On another level it’s about fear of aging, irrelevance and marching closer to the grave.

They’re deliberately trying to sell you stuff and will use anything that works and is legal. It’s not stupid. You remember that commercial and that brand when you don’t remember others. ๐ For every person who is turned off by the commercial and won’t buy it, there’s about nine who just picked up the eye cream at the drug store whether they liked the commercial or just felt irritated and anxious. ๐
The people working for advertising agencies may be generally stupid and confused, but advertising works. ๐
