Meet the Rabbit

So I go outside this morning, and what is it that I see? The rabbit is hanging out around my sunflower garden. I might have to start covering the garden with netting overnight.

I have a newfound appreciation for farmers’ work.

    1. “That’s a very cute rabbit, but I have to note with amusement that the related posts your blog suggests are all cooking recipes.”

      • Hilarious! Yesterday, N gave me a very weird look when I asked him if he wants me to cook rabbit this week. I didn’t manage fully to convince him that I got the rabbit in question from a store and not in the backyard. 🙂

I have to confess that it would feel weird to sit here eating a rabbit while a live rabbit is running so close to us in the backyard.

  1. It kind of looks like it’s saying “Never mind me, I dont’ want any trouble, I’m just passing through.”

Part of me though thinks…. “This is what a terrorist looks like.”

    1. Yes, it does look like it’s up to no good. When it saw me, it gave me this very honest deep stare that my students always give when they say “Oh yes, of course, we have done the reading.” The wider they open their eyes to fake honesty, the fewer is the number of pages they have actually read.

    2. WABBIT SEASON!

      🙂

[points out that this is a running gag in Bugs Bunny cartoons, in case Clarissa hasn’t seen enough of those …]

      1. KIW DE WABBIT, KIW DE WABBIT (sung to the tune of the Ride of the Walkyries).

For general amusement (or not) the Soviet equivalent of a smart aleck rabbit [technically a hare].
