Putin Universe

Such an important cultural event, and I totally misssed it:

And the exhibit ‘ s catalog:

The organizer is some life-battered Brit who picked up an inexpensive Russian broad and is trying to impress her with passionate Putinoid worship.

  1. “some life-battered Brit who picked up an inexpensive Russian broad” Ouch! But probably well deserved, lol.
At first I thought it was a satirical project, but looking around the internet, it seems it was made with serious intent.
This kind of hero w(h)or(e)ship is rather creepy, especially given the subject matter.

  2. I totally thought this must be parody (and the pictures certainly look like they’re mocking the evil little elf) it’s actually meant to be a serious homage?

    Too weird…..

    1. There is so much of this kind of stuff going on in Russia right now that it’s no longer possible to believe that people are just trying to be funny.

At first, when we started seeing all the gushy books for toddlers about how wonderful Putin was as a little kid, how he loved fluffy kittens and was kind to old ladies, we thought it was a joke.

And then we saw school textbooks where the same stories were repeated.

And then there were school contests where children had to write and perform songs as to why they love Putin.

And then state companies obligated their employees to write essays on the subject of “Putin and I are on the same team!”

And then people started covering their bodies with tattoos of Putin. And so on.

And now it’s no longer as funny.

      1. Actually properly prepared dog meat doesn’t taste bad at all. (I probably ate some in Korea without knowing it.)

The problem is that one can’t be sure that it’s safe to consume, since no legitimate government agency has inspected the meat.
