Blog Pride

I’ve had over 4 million hits on this blog (on both platforms combined) but what I’m most proud of is that there are people who have been reading it for years and there are even those who remember it from its old Blogger platform. I’m also proud that idiots, creeps and superficial chirpers don’t even have to be moderated. They fall off on their own.

Another thing I’m proud of is that we don’t have a commenting policy here. Every once in a while, WordPress acts up and sticks somebody (usually reader Dreidel) in moderation for some reason, and I’ve got to rescue them from the Spam box, but that’s about all the moderation the blog requires these days. This just goes to show that you can have a popular blog with a wide readership that maintains a high level of discourse without any special efforts at policing the commenters.

Thank you, everybody, for reading and / or participating.

  1. Well, thank you for creating this blog in the first place.

The people I still recognize from when I started posting are Z, David P. Bellamy, Shedding Khawatir, Ol., Penn, and David Gendron. I could be missing a few.

Who’s your earliest reader that still posts on the blog?

    1. There is valter07, but he’s a personal friend.

Xyqademiqz has been here for a long time but she had a different name back at the old platform.

What’s really mind-blowing is that there is a list of roles of sorts that are always filled. If a person who plays a certain role falls off, somebody steps in to fill this role. For instance, we’ve had several people here who played the role of Dreidel. The most recent was the older gentleman from Alberta. The moment he disappeared, Dreidel appeared. It’s as if this somehow worked on its own.

Then there was this commenter called Patrick, also from Canada, who reminds me a lot of Cliff Arroyo. Etc.

  2. Congrats on the 4+ million hits! It’s a great blog. I found you many years ago (2010? 2011?) through the comment section of a now defunct blog by a science prof at a PUI, can’t remember the name now, and I haven’t looked back! 🙂

I do wonder what happened to some of the old regulars — do you know what became of Leah Jane? The woman from South Africa (musteryou) who would often post videos also fell off at some point.

What? “I need more room!” said Daniel Boone.

I’m not sure about hanging around somwhere that’s so crowded, maybe I should think about moving on….

    1. Hey, great post on the Kaczynski plane crash. I’m shocked by how many intelligent people are descending into the depth of ridiculous conspiracy theorizing about it.

Gee, I didn’t realize I was just an actor in a melodrama!
