Nobel Peace Prize

A bunch of French lackeys has nominated Putin for the Nobel Peace Prize. Given that he prevented a war between Russia and NATO by achieving world domination, I wholeheartedly second the nomination.

  1. I think they should have gone directly for nominating Assad, who is heroically fighting ISIS in Syria. After all, Russians are only his helpers.

Btw, I was glad to read the following and hope it’s not only empty words:

\ Benjamin Netanyahu issued a statement on Tuesday, announcing that Israel would be seeking to aid in the humanitarian crisis currently taking place in Aleppo.

“We see the tragedy of terrible suffering of civilians and I’ve asked the Foregin Ministry to seek ways to expand our medical assistance
to the civilian casualities of the Syrian tragedy, specifically in Aleppo,” said Netanyahu.

“We’re prepared to take in wounded women and children, and also men if they’re not combatants. We’d like to do that: bring them to Israel, take care of them on our hospitals as we’ve done with thousands of Syrian civilians. We’re looking into ways of doing this; it’s being explored as we speak.”

    1. I’m hoping that what Netanyahu says does happen. Aleppo is a great stain on the US conscience but, as usual, somebody else gets to deal with the consequences. 😞

          1. If you have ever been the object of obsessive love, you’ll know that nothing is ever enough. No matter what you give the crazed fan, it’s never enough. Putin loves America like a stalker loves a movie star. Even if the star gets in bed with him like Trump’s doing, it won’t be satisfying.

Reminded me of planning to read “Enduring Love” by Ian McEwan.

May be, you would love it since you loved McEwan’s other novels.

              1. Endless Love by Scott Spencer as very good. It’s also about weird obsessive love that …. does not work out well.

Unfortunately it was made into a movie that completely missed the point – twice I think.

The whole point of the book (as I remember) is that there was nothing really special about the object of his weird emotional obsessiveness – which is kind of gross and repellent. The title of the book was probably meant ironically.

    1. Germans squeezed Greece so that Greeks couldn’t maintain their prisons. So the Greeks handed the prison populations to the Germans to handle. What could be more logical?

As for criminals among refugees, take any random 1,5 million people, and there will of course be criminals among them. How could there not? Statistical probability makes it a sure thing.
