Klara has known how to say “Mama” for months. But just like with the action of holding her own bottle, she saw no reason to apply this skill. When her somewhat older cousin came to visit, though, she noticed that he was saying “Mama”, realized it was trendy to do that, and now is saying it all the time.

But Klara is of Eastern European heritage. How is it that she doesn’t say, “Ma-MAH”?
And surely she says “Pa-PAH” and not “daddy,” right?

In Russian it’s pronounced like the English “mamma.” And N is “Dada” because I speak English to her and refer to him as Daddy. She learned the word Dada long before anything else.
