Trump Isn’t Racist

At least, now we know Trump is not racist. He was clearly a lot more comfortable, relaxed and overall schmoozier with the Saudis than at the stilted photo op with the NATO leaders today. It clearly looked like he couldn’t be out of there fast enough today. Plus, the NATO received none of the exuberant praise he’d offered to the Saudi king.

  1. Yep. Trump likes rich people with terrible taste and illiberal values, regardless of their race, ethnicity, or nominal religious affiliation. He hates politicians in democracies.

  2. The Saudis put money in his pocket, and flattered the hell out of him. They also made sure there were no pesky reporters or lay people asking impertinent questions. Also there were no women with any say or power. Of course he felt more comfortable and schmoozy! The Saudi press praised Melania’s fashion, and Ivanka praised their progress on women’s rights, the US commerce secretary loved the lack of protesters, and Saudi Arabia just got this arms deal.

And of course you mentioned Russia kisses up to Saudi Arabia because of its oil based economy and position within OPEC. We all know how much Trump defers to Putin, so if Putin watches himself with Saudi Arabia…

    1. It looked like he was sincerely awed by the Saudis. And his behavior on that stage today was definitely not one of a white supremacist finally back at home with his roots.

This “racist and sexist” mantra that dominated the election was crap. He’s a clueless rich bastard, that’s what’s wrong with him. That’s what the election should have been about.

            1. lol @ this martyr.

You were banned for your unvarnished racism, after having received multiple warnings to control your outbursts. But you just couldn’t help yourself.

Hello, Stringer Boy! I don’t recall anyone mentioning your name here. Could it be that you have a guilty conscience to think that this was about you?

Perhaps you’re redeemable, after all. 🙂

What? Is this opposite day? Dude, you were banned for your repeated racism, and you’ve expressed neither guilt nor shame at your actions. A grown-ass man being banned from a academic’s blog. Achievement unlocked, lol.

You expected that people with little to no class consciousness would recoil at “clueless rich bastard”?

That’s not what happened. We had plenty of warning from all kinds of people that he was and is a clueless rich bastard.

  3. He still has no problem stoking racist hatred for his own gain. So even if he’s not racist internally, he is still racist in (many) of his effects. And if you’re okay enacting racist policy for gain, does that not make you racist?

    1. There’s no doubt that many of his supporters are racist in the extreme. But he himself is not. Just like capital. Capital doesn’t know gender or race

  5. Disagree with you on Trump not being racist/sexist. Numerous personal accounts over the years from people that know him or worked with him say that he is exactly that.

He can be both racist/sexist and a rich old bastard.

“That’s what the election should have been about.”

Yeah, that was a campaign mistake, of course. But I guess Hillary Clinton placed too much faith on the decency of the american people. One thing this election definitely proved is that there isn’t much of that to go around.

GOP candidate in Montana commits assault on a reporter who asked him a question about AHCA (a topic he was trying to avoid taking a stand on). Supporters cheer. GOP establishment says nothing. Blames ‘liberal’ reporter.
