For the first time as an American citizen, I wish you happy July 4th!

It also happens to be exactly 20 years since I arrived on this continent.

Yes, that would be twenty. When I stepped off the airplane in Toronto back in 1998, I knew exactly what I wanted. Except for minor details*, I now have it.
Time for a new plan.
* The original goal was to be a literary translator from Spanish. And wear pastel-colored outfits.
Happy July 4th to you, too!

Yeah, congratulations, American lady! It was also 20 years ago when I retired from being a doctor/commander in the U.S. Air Force, and decided to move to Arizona to start a totally new lifestyle — hardly the brave move that you made, since you were starting a whole new life, and I was wrapping my old one up.
I’m simply making the point that 20 years is a long time: Time enough to screw things up terribly, or to do things right for yourself and your family. And you obviously made all the right choices along the way.
So from one American citizen to another, congratulations — and keep up the good work!

Happy Fourth of July!
As I was walking to work I passed through a park named after Woodrow Wilson and saw some US military people with flags (some kind of ceremony for July 4th and Polish American relations) and since it was a holiday I stopped and chatted for a moment, so my patriotic duty is done!
