A friend is an immigrant from the former USSR. She is desperate, says her 17-year-old has been brainwashed in the local public school. The kid is glassy-eyed. She spouts the CRT slogans about whiteness and racial guilt, sounding like a little Soviet party apparatchik. You can imagine how it feels to a survivor of Soviet totalitarianism to hear this garbage in her own house from a formerly happy, sweet child.

Back in the USSR, though, all of the intelligentsia had to be murdered, exiled or forced into silence by terror to make this brainwashing possible. And in the US, it’s the opposite. The intellectuals are the ones who terrorize everybody into compliance with the dogma.

    I admit I am not looking forward to this year’s visit from my sullen adolescent niece, for similar reasons. She has bought the propaganda hook, line, and sinker. And as a result, she thinks that I and my family (not that she actually communicates with us, ever) are basically Nazi Klan members… because we go to church. Not kidding. My brother is as baffled as anyone.

    So how is one to understand this? (I mean @methylethyl’s story too.) For example, is it solely due to intensive inculcation with lying ideologies, or does it occur also because appeals are made to young people’s sense of fairness, desire for independence, and so forth?

      Young people are trying to build an identity, stand out as separate individuals. These brainwashing bastards are using this very natural part of growing up for their own benefit.
