The Soviets invaded in 1956, russia is the successor state of the USSR, Hungary under Orban is russia’s main ally in the EU… and putain hates, hates, HATES any reference to soviet malfeasance (since he’s big on rehabilitating anything and everything soviet) so Hungary is back to being a de facto russian client state but afraid to say so openly.
