Are You Against Re-industrialization?

✅Congress has passed $113bn of Ukraine-related aid

✅63% ($69bn) was spent in the U.S., in our defense industrial base, creating well-paying jobs in Missouri, Alabama, Arizona, etc

✅39% ($44bn) of this has gone *directly* to support the U.S. military

That’s what you oppose when you oppose aid to Ukraine.

  1. Putin likely (correctly) believed that the US public would lose interest in this war and (incorrectly) that this would lead to a decline in weapons shipments.

This misunderstanding is due to a failure to appreciate how small the cost is relative to the US GDP and the importance of pork barrels in American politics.

    1. What do you mean correctly?? If you saw the number of Ukrainian flags on houses in my small town with a single Ukrainian resident and the attendance at my Ukrainian events, you’d never say this. People are extremely interested, engaged and supportive.

The last thing Putin would think about is “US pork barrels”. The dude started the war to stay alive. Like all wars, this one had a completely internal motivations.

      1. OK, but my point was that Putin not considering the importance of the pork barrels is why he underestimates how long the practical short will last after the public support has run out.
