Expected News

Well, obviously the Chinese weren’t going to take the initiative themselves. Unless Massa gives a command, they won’t move.

Chinese ship with a russian captain….

Once more for the cheap seats…. New Axis Powers (russia, iran, china, north korea) are cooperating across two fronts on two continents with a third about to be opened up while clueless westerners are hoping if they don’t say the words then it’s not true…..

WWIII is already here, the two sides are roughly tyranny (NAP) versus freedom (Ukraine, its allies, which sadly do not include Israel…… hmmm hmmmmm).

It can still be halted but the problem has to be recognized before that can happen. Otherwise it will play out and probably involve nukes at some point.

      1. “Do you know Claire Berlinski’s Substack?”

I don’t think I’ve heard of her…. it’s the analysis of anyone who looks at what’s going on (rather than daydreaming about pleasing fantasies). It doesn’t have to follow the worst case scenario but hardly any western politicians are doing much to prevent it (and it will be easier to prevent than stop).

    1. I dunno. Seems more like Cold War II. China is behaving more like 1980s Japan rather than the 1940s, trying to dominate manufacturing instead of fighting wars, with greater chance of success due to their much larger scale. They got Hong Kong without a fight, so why wouldn’t they try the same thing with Taiwan?

Russia is behaving like a former imperial power trying to maintain control of their old colonies. As far as I can tell, their recent ‘ICBM’ was an intermediate range missile, capable of targeting Europe but not the US, indicating they are trying to exert dominance in their ‘sphere of influence’ without risking a direct fight with the US.

      1. “China is behaving more like”

Taking over Taiwan militarily is an open goal of the PRC and they’ve been very aggressive with the Philippines lately (and hinting at a _lot_ of border revisions, not just with russia).

“ussia is behaving like a former imperial power trying to maintain control of their old colonies”

On russian state media, they consistently say they want to take over Europe. Why would they lie about that?

“without risking a direct fight with the US”

russian state media (again doesn’t pass information the government doesn’t want passed) regularly talks about nuking the US.

When countries tell you what they want to do… believing them is the safest option.

First, you seem to think that russia has rational motivations and goals…. it doesn’t.

Second, russian state media again has downplayed retaliation saying, in effect, we’ll all die but only we (russians) will got to heaven.

Third, russian rationale might be that the western cowardice that has characterized responses so far would talk itself out of retaliation and theyf might well think they could use a nuke or two and get away with it.

Fourth…. the russian orthodox church has given its blessing to nuclear strikes saying dying is no big deal and real christians don’t fear the end of the world.

But…. go on, keep pretending the russian government is a rational actor.

  2. I get so angry I can hardly think… And yet, how can public opinion in Western countries still defend Russia, China, Iran? What’s wrong with their eyes, their ears, their brains? They call Trump a Nazi for eff’s sake!!!
