The Trump-Putin Call

Honestly, getting very tired of the ceaseless prattle about the Middle East.

As for the actual Russian war, if this readout is correct, Trump conceded everything that Russia wants and got absolutely nothing in return. This is Trump’s first-term kind of ineptitude. Why it’s not possible to let Europeans deal with it and concentrate on domestic affairs has not been explained. The kind of a “deal” where the US facilitates that there’s no damage done to the Russian oil industry is no deal at all.

This is sad ineptitude and lack of seriousness.

I agree. Israel can take care of itself and the US can stop acting like a trained poodle for them.

That said, I just see a bunch of empty verbiage here and no real details. As always, pay no attention to what Trump says and see what shakes out in the real world.

A huge weakness of Trump is that his fragile ego won’t let him stand up to those who talk tough.

    1. What bugs me is that we are once again in a reality where objective facts can’t be said aloud. Zelensky agreed to Trump’s proposal regarding the 30-day ceasefire. Putin rejected it. This is an objective fact. But nobody on our side will have the strength to say it. So how are we different from the libs? That we love Israel more? Yippee.

  2. This release has nothing of substance whatsoever. Including the middle east into this discussion is completely ridiculous and not relevant.

I heard Peter Zeihan say that the Trump administration is completely inept because he’s only putting loyalists in positions of power. This ineptitude in dealing with Putin is not looking very good.

    1. It’s basically saying, “the US doesn’t care about anything except Israel.” I’m honestly not understanding the degree of Trump’s loyalty to Israel. And I say this as a supporter of Israel. But this single-minded obsession with a single country that isn’t doing anything much for us is incomprehensible.

      1. I have encountered posts on the internet, that I obviously cannot verify, claiming that Trump himself has been on Epstein’s list, and not just in “pretending he has seen nothing” mode. And if it is true that Epstein was an Israeli agent…

This always bothered me about Trump as a Russian spy narrative: Paradoxically, Trump’s reputation is such that most accusations do not really move a needle. (MAGA are willing to forgive him anything, dems hate him anyway.) He had sex with so many prostitutes (aka models) that some of them being Russian does not matter much. He was involved in so many shady real estate deals that some of them being with the Russians does not matter much. Etc. In order to control a person with reputation like that some foreign intelligence services have to have incontrovertible evidence of not just sex, but raping underage girls, not just shady business deals, but laundering the drug cartel money, or maybe the legendary “gold of the Communist Party of the USSR”, etc.

        1. Exactly. Even if Trump borrowed or received as a gift money from somebody in Russia, the chances he’d honor some sort of an obligation for that are nil. This is all empty blather with no value.

And in an age of deep fakes he could just say any evidence is fake… the age of kompromat is older.

I could be wrong, but now I’m tending to think he’s just a weak personality who’s attracted to political leaders that he thinks project strength… not even strong they just put up a front that pushes his ‘submit’ buttons.

          1. That’s what I kept saying throughout his first term. Unfortunately, he’s weak. Got talked into lockdowns, vaccines, letting the BLM run rampant, being Netanyahu’s pet poodle, now this. It’s all weakness.

    1. Putin is purposefully spitting in his face. As I predicted from the start. I also predicted that Trump wouldn’t bear the humiliation well but here I might have been too optimistic.
