Scammers enroll AI bots in online courses in community colleges in order to claim financial aid.

As a result, 25% of applicants to community colleges in California are now bots.

Will this finally put an end to the entire concept of online courses? Especially at community colleges where students (I mean actual human students) are signally unable to learn anything without being physically present in a classroom.

    strange… One of the things that stops our university from offering more online courses is that allegedly US students can not get financial aid if they are enrolled in online courses…

      It is different for community colleges versus attending overseas colleges. Our Fulbrighters, for example, are also obligated to attend courses in person.

    I am looking forward to the day when “online” everything becomes so corrupted by bot activity, that we are forced to return to showing up in the front office, asking for an application, and filling it out with a pen.
