There’s terror in the thought that we could pass moral judgment because everything is supposed to be equal to everything else. Life is not a continuum but a collection of discrete segments that have no impact on each other. Every one of these segments is a trip to a supermarket filled with choices that are all equal in value and have no impact on anything else. There’s no sin, no evil worse than assigning a value and a consequence to the choices. They are godlike in their infallibility. You make choices so you can make more choices.

None of this affects my opinions about his “journalism” (low before, low now.) But this man is raising two adopted children. How can anyone condone this behavior in light of that? When you adopt or father children, it’s time to give up the hookers and blow lifestyle. If that lifestyle is deeply important to you, don’t drag innocent children into a life where you retweet videos of yourself engaging in disgusting fetishes with a prostitute.

He clearly says in his statement, the videos were published without his knowledge and consent. This is, if not technically “kompromat”, something similar, right?
It means that some political actor had penetrated his computer systems, gathered data on his sex life, and released it to smear him in time for his latest appearance on Tucker Carlson.

I found enough evidence to say tentatively that it was in fact retweeted from his account.
The theory that makes the most sense to me, is simply that his account was hacked by the same people who leaked the video.
Tied for a very distant second place, the theory that it was a plot to promote his appearance on Tucker Carlson, and the theory that he was trying to neutralize an extortion attempt by the escort agency (“you can’t threaten to leak the tape, I’ll link to it myself”).
The “theory” that he deliberately retweeted it just for a thrill makes little sense given how serious he is about his politics.
