The university is closed for the federal holiday but I breached the perimeter and penetrated into the building through the loading dock. I’m here completely alone. The entire building is mine. I walk around in empty hallways loudly doing my German exercises.

Where I am… next week is hell (final exams in a place that takes final exams waaaaayyyy too seriously) and I have to be on campus every day…
Then I’m officially on vacation (just two semesters here summers not much goes on) and technically shouldn’t go near the university but I probably will a lot to try to get my rat’s nest of an office in order….

I’ll add…. that’s made more difficult by the EU’s retarded General Data Protection Regulation so I can’t just throw out old student work… or draw a black marker over a name – it has to be shredded and the department office says I should also shred my own stuff (though I don’t care that my name is on it).
Sooo stupid.

We are supposed to do the shredding thing, too. It’s a weird exercise but it entertains the lab workers.

Maybe being alone in regular office buildings is depressing but being alone on a college campus is such a lovely feeling. I can’t explain why that is!
