Not New Under the Sun

This is why younger people need us, oldsters:

This is not a new thing. This is a forever thing. Thirty years ago, men and women got together and complained that there are no worthwhile women and men for them to date.  This tweet could have been written in 2002 if Twitter existed. I spent half of my youth in these conversations. This is not a new societal trend.

And by the way, 100% of the women in those conversations from 20 years ago, including me, are happily married and childed.

  1. I like how the word rockstar in 2025 has come to mean a successful email job-having person lol.

Speaking of rockstars, the 90s rock group Oasis is reuniting and touring again after 2009. Literally days before their asia tour Liam posts this on twitter. Everyone’s acting as if it’s Chinese 9/11 and I’m like, this is the least racist thing he’s said in his life.

Kid, guys measure everything. Your assessment was true for my age group, and later, largely for your very specific cohort i.e., those with four or greater year degrees. But what is actually “not new under the sun” is female hypergamy, the innate preference for marrying someone of a higher social status or class — for selecting a mate with higher education, income, or social standing. Simply put, women select men capable of providing for themselves and their offspring.

But decades of deliberate feminist gender preferences was always as childishly stupid as it was immoral, well, those chickens are now coming home to roost. Now what?

This Is terrible news: in US society, more, better-educated women means more unmarried or un-partnered women, which means more votes for Democrats pushing crazy policies often determined by other un-partnered women working for think-tanks and NGOs.

    It’s bad on all fronts.
