Weak as Water

Trump says he knows that “radical right people may not be quite happy” with his plan to grant amnesty to illegals working in agriculture and hospitality.

I’m just honestly.

One step forward, one and a half backwards.

    1. @kSberry:

“God” is a childish fantasy clung to by silly human beings who can’t accept the obvious reality that all of us are simply abnormally advanced animals who won the war of evolution millions of years ago.

The apes almost matched us, but they stopped evolving a couple of millennia too soon. So it’s up to us to rule the world now.

If your silly fantasy “God” is in charge and HATES us so much, why doesn’t he act like it and reign destruction down upon the world, like his creative fiction did in the biblical Old Testament?

I apologize if my post offends you, Clarrisa — and will understand if you delete it. But at a certain time late in Arizona when I’m staying up late, I feel like I have to respond to certain to certain beyond-the-pale posts.

Clarissa, what do you make of the very massive increase of funding for ICE? There is talk of the new budget being well over one hundred billion dollar.

    1. Agreed, Trump is breaking his word. There are already legal mechanisms for temporary seasonal agricultural workers in both the USA and Canada and I do not support even that, because the work was once paid by citizens, Sure, it was mostly teenagers in Canada but they were citizens protected by minimum wage lrgislation..

Never mind the “radical right” horseshit. I may be a Doubting Thomas but I do know what the Bible says about fair wages. If you allow these greedy SOBs an inch with agriculture, they will grab meat processing, restaurant and hotels, and construction. And there will be your fellow citizens and their families going without, so phone your Republican party office and tear them a new arsehole.

      1. I agree. It starts with a special carve out for this industry and that, and then suddenly everybody gets amnesty, and we are exactly where we started.
