Q&A about Pedophilia

With all due respect, I read your question right after seeing this:

The dude isn’t just any sex offender. His offense is specifically sexual abuse of children.

I find it hard to muster much enthusiasm for a discussion of wiggle room in rare, marginal cases when we haven’t found a mechanism to prevent convicted pedos from adopting babies.

  1. Every mention of pedos on the internet:

We need to protect children from exploitation by predator creepers.

OMG WHAT ABOUT HORNY TEENAGERS?? WHAT IF HORNY TEENAGERS ARE LYING ABOUT THEIR AGE???

Maybe try not to be so obvious about being an adult who fantasizes about teenagers, eh?

    1. Xavier Poussard tells of this horrid case in France where two 11-year-old girls were found by the courts to have consented to sex with an adult. Consented! Words can’t describe the horror I feel at this.

      1. when does a 20-year age gap stop being a problem.
        14-34 : not ok

        30-50 : fine

19-39? 17-37? 25-45? What should the social norms be, and what role should we all play in enforcing those norms?

        1. As long as everybody is an adult, it’s fine with me. But having observed a 19-32 relationship from very close for 20 years up to its collapse, I won’t recommend because even with the greatest love, people are out of tune, they are living completely different stages of their lives physically, intellectually, emotionally. It’s doomed.

Everybody should do whatever they want (if it’s legal) but I personally just don’t recommend. I won’t say more because it’s devastating to me but I suggest visiting a psychologist if such a pairing feels attractive.
