I was going to post this story, as I usually do, but I realized that it’s easier to record it instead of writing it out and adding the images to a post. It’s a Friday in September, the hardest month both personally and at work, so I’m beat. The story in the video is good, though. It is about the efforts to make the BLM a big thing in Ukraine. It’s in English, so everybody can watch. I’m not a big maker of videos, so any comment or criticism is welcome.

Great video! The only suggestion I have is to perhaps use a non-blurred background. A blurred background has the aesthetics of a “hurried zoom call” for me. Someone of your stature (full professor, intellectual) would be better complemented by something permanent/stable like a bookshelf or something equally dignified.

It’s trippy the way the filter keeps eating your sleeves. Maybe avoid stripes in the future?
Whatever combination of hair/makeup/lighting/angle you landed on here looks great and you should do it again.

I have no idea why I looked so much better here than in the Kontinent video the day before. Filmed in the same place, at the same time of the day, and a completely different look.

My favorite part is the word грантожер/грантожерка (sp) really great.
Money from the EU and/or US for that kind of thing weren’t called ‘granty’ in Polish… (and funduszożer or dotatacjożer don’t roll off the tongue so easily). I have heard ‘łowca funduszu’ (fund hunter) before.
A sideways concept in the late 1990s early 2000s were people in former Soviet spaces with Polish ancestry (real or imagined) who supported themselves by grants from Poland to do cultural outreach programs. I remember a funny article about one in Kazakhstan (where a bunch were sent by Stalin) called “Zawód: Polak” (Occupation: Pole).
