I’ve been on a Joni Mitchell kick lately. I can’t believe she wrote this song when she was a teenager.
She sings the same song at 70 and it sounds so different.

Weirdly…. I lurve Joni Mitchell but Both Sides Now has never been that high on my personal list…
You turn me on, I’m a radio,
Down to you
Just like this train,
People’s parties – the same situation
Shades of Scarlett conquering
In France they kiss on Main street
the Boho Dance
Are all above it for me…

“my favorite song ever”
If it did nothing else again, the internet totally justified its existence with the literal video of “Total Eclipse of the Heart” (Bonnie Tyler has said that she loves it too).
So many great lines….
“And they shouldn’t fence at night, or they’re going to hurt the gymnasts”
“I’m totally shaking his hand.”

Writer-producer Jim Steinman created a lot of terrific songs, and “Total Eclipse…” is one of his best. Semi-fun fact–this song stayed in the #1 spot in the US for four weeks, keeping the Air Supply song “Making Love Out of Nothing at All,” another Jim Steinman composition, at #2.

My absolute favorite song, though, is “Bitch betta have my money” by AMG. Lyrics by William Butler Yeats.
