We have a program for our most gifted students. It’s funded by a billionaire and provides a full-ride scholarship to the crème de la crème of our students, the tiny minority of our best and brightest.
The program had existed for a long time before the billionaire got involved. And it was going great. But once the billionaire started funding it, we have to do things his way. And he’s very woke. Meaning that he wants us to admit more black students into the program.
The director of the gifted program is desperate. He put in paperwork to drop the grade requirements for the gifted program below the non-gifted programs. I’m weeping over the sheer hilarity of this.
OK, it’s not really funny. But what can you do if not laugh?

This is the type of contradiction that destroys countries… if reality cannot be directly addressed…. bad things start to happen and continue to happen and only get worse.

From my experience and from everything I’ve read, they are a lot like American Northern White Liberals (think Bernie) who think that everybody is just like them under a few unimportant surface differences.
And they’re patient, they assume when certain problems arise that what it is needed is to stay the course and eventually things will work out.
In Europe Denmark is starting to realize that’s not the case but slowly and hesitantly (and hundreds of years of experience with Greenlanders didn’t make a dent in these beliefs but a few decades of disastrous migration from MENA countries has definitely made a very bad impression.

Yeah, got to see the end of the old ways in Canada’s North, it was physically tough. But the help of government changes were far, far worse — adult alcohol and child huffing (gas sniffing).
