Citizens

Just heard a fantastic speech Obama gave in NC today. If the darn citizens don’t come out to vote in droves even after that, then screw them. I don’t know what else people need to go and vote and make this thing go away already.

Long Day

I turn on the news after a long, long day and see a grand wizard of the Ku Klux Klan on a stage of an actual political debate in Louisiana. And what he’s saying is,

” I’m not opposed to all Jews but. . .”

Whew, what a relief. Good to know he’s not opposed to all Jews. I can sleep easy.

White Identity Crisis

There is yet another article in the NY TIMES about ” the crisis of white identity.” The whole concept sounds deeply bizarre to me. I’m white but I never had any “white identity”. Never felt the need for one. And hey, I’m better off because I don’t need to be wasting my time on any dumb identity crisis as a result.

People should go find something useful to do with themselves.

Once It’s Over

The people who really bug me are those who say in holier – than – thou tones, “I’m just so tired of all this negativity and partisanship. I want this election to be over.”

Yes, once the election is over, we will all make flower arrangements and stare at our miniature peace gardens because that’s what everybody did non-stop before this election.

The Answer

The story of the Oppressed Tiffany answered my own question about the rich Trump supporters. I forgot that it’s precisely the rich and the spoiled who feel the most Oppressed and downtrodden. They are sitting in their mansions, feeling aggrieved and hard done by. Their oppression doesn’t have to be real. To the contrary, they feel it all the more strongly the less actual cause there is for it.

The people who are actually experiencing hardship are never so aggressively mean about it.

A Raging Snowflake

Remember the Oppressed Tiffany, a very special snowflake whose “narrative was erased by the entire field of academia” when a hapless prof asked her to work on her writing?

The administration of her college is now going to humiliate the entire teaching faculty by forcing them to attend classes on microaggressions to appease the raging snowflake. Serves them right for not figuring out that their job is not to teach the snowflakes but to praise them slavishly and exuberantly without pause.

I Don’t Get Them

What I can’t figure out is why the folks in those $ 8 5 0 , 0 0 0 (which is VERY expensive in this  area) houses vote for Trump.

They are obviously doing amazing in this economy. The houses are brand new, having been built a few months ago in a subdivision with very high property taxes.

It can’t be Mexicans / Muslims because there aren’t any for hundreds of miles around. Mexicans / Muslims are as relevant to this area as Australians.

What is it, then ? They are rich and getting richer, they don’t have to see anybody non-white anywhere but on TV. What’s making them this angry?

Self-hatred

It’s curious that 37% of Americans are so excited about the exact same ideas that 86% of Putin-lovers in Russia are crazy about. It’s especially curious because the core of these ideas is “Americans are inept and always mess things up whenever they try to meddle internationally. It’s best that they retreat and hide behind a wall.”

Tovarish Trump

Did you, folks, hear about the server Trump set up to communicate exclusively and constantly with Alfa Bank, a criminal organization owned by Putin?

When I say that Trump’s every line is dictated by the Kremlin , I’m not kidding. for instance , when Trump says, ” Let’s cancel the elections altogether”, it’s not a clumsy attempt at humor. It’s a line that is immediately used in a thousand of newscasts in Russia that say, ” Americans have recognized that democracy doesn’t work and we were right the whole time to reject this useless invention that Americans are trying to slam down people’s throats.”

When he says “the election is rigged”, there is an explosion of glee in Russian media. ” American elections are just as rigged as ours! Democracy is all about fake elections everywhere.”

He literally says nothing that hasn’t been part of The Kremlin narrative for 16 years.

Oh Canada. . .

A nurse looks at my chart and exclaims, “You are from Canada??? And you live here?? What’s wrong with you? Don’t you see who’s trying to get elected? A madman! People move to Canada, not from Canada.”

“We’ll win, don’t worry,” I reassure the nurse.
