A school district in Michigan decided to stop holding classes on Fridays. Instead, students stay home and do “remote learning.” Obviously, this means that the parents must lose their jobs. Just like that, no warning. You thought you could plan your life a whole week ahead, you stupid peon? Ha ha.
The school district in question is 94% black and 56% low-income but not a single anti-racist or socialist has noticed or had a problem with this.
This kind of casual cruelty is going to become an inevitable feature of all public services. Remember the “universal free pre-K”? Avoid it with all you’ve got or prepare to be screwed in ways you don’t want to experience.
During Stalinism, it happened several times that a command was given: hound artists, or hound engineers. Immediately, a huge campaign against the offending group would be unleashed. Crowds of earnest, overheated Joy Read and Rachel Maddow types would start foaming at the mouth, demanding that the artists or the engineers or the teachers of German should be imprisoned, destroyed, wiped off the face of the earth, etc. because they were evil Nazis.
And then. . . It would be announced that the campaign was a plot hatched up against innocent artists or German teachers by the real Nazis. The Joy Reads and the Rachel Maddows would be revealed as the Nazis and sent to the camps. The formerly condemned artists and engineers would be dragged back home from the camps and given promotions and prizes.
The point of the exercise was to identify those who were too eager to support the ideology. The too-eager types were considered as dangerous as open enemies. They were too stupid to be allowed to exist, and the sincerity of their belief was proof of their stupidity.
Today, after even the NYTimes has accepted that the Russia collusion was a lie and the FBI arrested one of the original creators of the hoax, please remember that I told you it was a load of hooey from the start.
The scandal here is the every TV channel and newspaper ran with such an obvious and ridiculous hoax for years. Made tons of money off gullible audiences. Duped people into voting against their economic interest. And faced zero consequences because the same duped, conned sheep are still patiently tuning in and buying some new lies.
This is advice to people who have taken their third “vaccine” shot. Observe the infantilizing, contemptuous tone:
It's time to take a deep breath, tap the brakes, continue using your mask indoors, and not re-engage with large crowds just yet. https://t.co/yhSDea3VKx
Our infrastructure bill will make high-speed internet affordable and available everywhere in America, so no parent has to sit in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant so their child can access the internet to do their homework.
Instead of making teachers in public schools actually teach instead of assigning this stupid “internet homework,” these bastards are robbing several more trillion from the people to put them in the pocket of an already fabulously rich broadband and “online homework solutions” provider.
I’m particularly impressed by how this “internet homework” is being presented as something completely natural and even beneficial.
I interviewed a graduate student from India for an assistantship job. She’s in computer science.
“Are you sure you will have time for this job?” I asked. “You must be very busy with your studies.”
The student smiled shyly. “Oh,” she said, “actually, I have so much time. The way coding is taught here. . . I already know all of it. It’s at such a different level than we do it. It’s very much. . . for beginners.”
She’s here for the visa, not the knowledge. We have no knowledge to give because we are hopelessly, pathetically behind. Instead of gearing our programs towards students who are capable of succeeding in their subjects, we embrace an insane, unscientific myth that nobody is naturally gifted and that every brain is an exact copy of everybody else’s. We “deemphasize calculus” and everything else that requires a stronger brain capacity to pretend that people are interchangeable widgets.
Gosh, even in the USSR we had schools for the mathematically gifted, the linguistically gifted, the athletically gifted, etc. The Soviets were ideological but not to the point of destroying the mathematical sciences in service of the ideology.
Mind you, though, this is not an accidental insanity that can be corrected. This is the foundation of the left’s worldview. Either people are identical dolls painted different color or they aren’t. Differences between individuals and groups that are in-born, not socially manufactured, either exist or they don’t. Either the gap can be closed or it can’t because some people just don’t have the brains for it.
Once you accept that some people are mathematically gifted while others aren’t, you can no longer argue that everything can be changed, engineered away, “re-imagined.”
The local grocery store advertises appointments for “COVID vaccine and flu shots.” I wonder where they find the difference when the degree of effectiveness is similar.
