My Favorite Snack

I love fresh figs. Mind you, not those weird dried ones. It’s fresh figs that are my favorite snack.

Of course, they are insanely expensive. Usually, they are sold for $1.99 each which is ridiculous. Sometimes, they go on sale for $0.99 apiece. But that’s crazy, too, because it feels like eating a 1 dollar bill with every small fig.

But, oh, they are amazing. The texture is so complicated that every fig is a separate experience. Just try putting your tongue inside a freshly bitten fig and swirling it in there for a few seconds and you’ll know what I’m talking about.

Today, however, they went on sale for $2.99 per box of 15 figs. So I’m happy.

In the next post, I will show you my second favorite snack.

Do you have a favorite snack?

      1. Yes. The taste is very subtle, it reminds me of raspberries, peaches, and kiwis, but milder. In my experience chirimoyas are hard to find in North America. I often bought them $5 a piece…

I am cheap so it hurt.

    1. I saw fresh raw pecans today but I don’t like the taste of pecans so I didn’t get them.

I’m not sure if I tried Stayman Winesap apples. They look familiar but I’m not sure.

I really miss the Ithaca apple fair. That was a great event!

  2. My favorite snacks are nectarines in the summer, and those little mandarin oranges in the winter. I love fresh figs too, but I often don’t buy them because of the price.

  3. Sister invited me for lunch because she bought figs and she wants to treat me. In turn, I am cooking for her in her home ’cause she is busy assembling IKEA furniture. Daughters have tons of shoes and clothes and they are longing for additional closets. I am very behind with my own work and will return to my office right after lunch.

  4. Where! Where! I want those 15 for 3 bucks figs, and I might make a side trip in IL to get them. The price is worth an extra gallon or so of gas!
