As we all know, Renaissance-era Spaniards closed their eyes whenever they changed their clothes, on penalty of being turned over to the Inquisition and burned at the stake.

I still haven’t been able to get them to define the Imquisition in a more precise way than “Inquisition is when Ferdinand and Isabel wanted to expel the Jews.”
