Real Music

I’ve lost touch with the young generation’s tastes in music and it was kind of shocking to discover that my students believe this is the best Spanish-language music video EVER:

They are now fighting a fierce battle to determine who will get to play it during their oral presentation.

So I put on this one to show them what good music videos are really like:

My video at least allows to start a discussion based on the images. And what is there to discuss about the mellifluous mewling in the first video?

  1. I like both of the videos that you posted. The first just seems more similar to what is becoming popular in U.S. music today anyway – a softer message, less angry-sounding, a melody.

I haven’t met many people who don’t like Julieta Venegas, maybe y’all could analyze the image of her and a bunch of other women eating flowers in the music video for “Bien o mal”

    1. When I was young, the music of the 1st video was what people in their 50s listened to. Young people liked something less bland and more dynamic. This song is so blah that I have no idea what they like about it. If at least the guy were cute but there isn’t even that.
