If you want to figure out who the victim and the victimizer are in any conflict, find somebody who belongs to the Eastern Orthodox Church. He will automatically support the victimizer in absolutely any circumstances and you will be able to make sense of the conflict.

Actually, Stalin adored the Patriarch and was loved in return. The Patriarch was the only person Stalin came out to greet whenever he visited. And every church held Sunday service in the honor of “our God-given leader Stalin.” Priests communicated the subversive things parishioners said in confession to the authorities, and everyone was happy.
