Do People Never Wash?

The Guardian is a total tabloid, right? The following can’t be true:

Who would ever want to be dirty? Yet according to a recent survey carried out by a cosmetics company, this is just what “a shocking one in three” women have “admitted” to, with 33% leaving it as long as three days from wash to wash. Worse, “four out of five women don’t shower every day”. Ah yes of course: this is all about the daily shower or bath, that well-known upper-class indicator.

One more opportunity for many people to feel sorry for themselves. And the cost is small: either nor washing or fantasizing about not washing in a paroxysm of imaginary business.

  1. I am sure that in winter many don’t shower every day. Washing underarms , face and may be feet, but not showering fully.

  2. In general, people behave in a rational manner, Translation, there’s always a reason for what they do, however odd. Please remember that a large portion of the US population skips breakfast Why? One possible reason is they like extra sleep and hit the snooze button such that they only have 10 minutes between finally getting up and leaving the house. The person who does that will have time for neither food nor shower.

  3. The Guardian is not known as a tabloid over here, no. It’s supposedly part of the “quality press”, what used to be known as a “broadsheet before anything that wasn’t the Daily Telegraph went “compact” (semi-compact in the Guardian’s case).

As for not showring every day, I don’t know if it’s all that necessary- washing in some way certainly (and possibly more important for us men who stink of sweat very easily if we don’t).
