The Work Is Evil Movement

And here is yet another article on how work – any work – is horrible, stultifying, unhealthy, and downright evil.

People mold reality, and then reality molds them right back. Soon enough, nobody will remember their own eager participation in the destruction of the concept of full-time jobs.

  1. Your posts about the dismantling of full-time work have made me wonder – is this because we’ve currently seeing a long spell of socio-economic stability? When the world was a lot more unstable, people wanted the stability of full time jobs. Now that the world is relatively more stable, they don’t value the stability of a full time job anymore.

  2. I think we are reading two different articles. The article I just read has to do with the fact that Walmart isn’t offering quite reasonable and necessary accommodations to some of its employees. It did not say that all work- even all paid jobs (only one form of “work”) are intrinsically evil.
