Can you determine where a Spanish-speaking person is from based on their accent?
I didn’t recognize people from Panama, Paraguay and Costa Rica. This is not surprising given that I never met anybody from these countries.
I’ve got to say, though, that in many cases I knew where people in the test were from based on their vocabulary and not pronunciation.
Yes, absolutely; I was very influenced by the vocabulary. Also, once I caught on to the fact that each country is only featured once, I got more right.
15/20 (missed Cuba, Ecuador, Bolivia, Paraguay, and Peru)

I mixed up all the countries from Central America.

Hey, Clarissa, thanks for sharing! I really liked this! I might share this with my native/heritage speakers in class to see how well they do. By the way, have you ever taken the following Spanish vocabulary test? Link: http://vocabulario.bcbl.eu/vocabulario/start
It’s fun and you can take it as many times as you like–the words are always different each time you take the quiz.
(By the way, you can skip the part where you have to input your personal info.)

That’s a great test thank you! At first, I thought I was going nuts but then it turned out there were non-existent words included on purpose. A great idea!
