National Governments Are a Joke

A Canadian professor is being persecuted for believing that “ze” and the rest of “non-binary pronouns” are kooky. Canada is about to pass legislation that will criminalize a refusal to use “ze” and its idiotic brethren.

National governments have lost all relevance. All they can do is try to pretend they are doing something and blind people to what’s going on by provoking ridiculous animosities. Human beings are more than capable of reaching an agreement amongst themselves whether to call each other ze, it, they, or pink elephant in heels. But if we are left in peace to figure that out on our own, we might notice that we are being robbed.

Last year, Canada’s system of accessible child care was eviscerated by siccing one group of working stiffs at another group of equally hard-working stiffs. Now people are being distracted from cutdowns in higher ed and research by this drama over the Pronoun Professor.

National governments can’t control capital so they try to micromanage interpersonal relationships instead. Let’s not let them do that. Let’s refuse to be lured into these ridiculous debates over these ridiculous non-issues. Even if it seems like the government is protecting your interests in the Pronoun drama, remember that it comes at the cost of a shredded welfare net and a drop in your standard of living.

Every time you are about to get outraged, ask yourself: is the person I’m angry with a fellow worker with bills, debts, and anxiety issues? Is he, she, they really my enemy? Or is the real enemy benefiting from our conflict?

  1. It is posts like this that make me want to welcome you into the anarcho-capitalist team. If only I could convince you that the people here are committed to making sure everyone gets an education and that nobody starves to death in the streets. 🙂

If that’s the case then they’re either not anarchists or not capitalists (or are not either).

    1. An anarcho-capitalist life insurance company could tell the businesses that it protects that they need to do progressive things like offer a $15 minimum wage and fund public schools. It is in the interest of the insurance company that we do not have angry desperate young people rioting and killing.

  3. EU does not even want to have functional borders, for a reason I fail to understand. Why let yourself be so dependent on a would-be-dictator of a third world country? (Just read the news item quoted below.)

    QUOTE

\ ISTANBUL – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has warned the European Union that if it continues threatening his country he will open the border gates and allow hundreds of thousands of migrants to flood into EU countries.

Erdogan, in a speech Friday, reacted furiously to a non-binding resolution approved the previous day by the European Parliament demanding that the bloc freeze membership negotiations with Turkey over the government’s heavy-handed crackdown following a failed coup in July.

“We are the ones who feed 3-3.5 million refugees in this country. You have betrayed your promises,” Erdogan told the EU. “If you go any further those border gates will be opened.”

The EU struck a deal earlier this year to return migrants to Turkey in return for a package including aid for the refugees and accelerated membership talks.

  4. How so you correctly adress somebody with a multi-personality split disorder? “They”! Or “legion”?
“And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not. For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit. And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many. And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country. Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding. And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them. And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea.”

      • Especially if every personality demands a different way of address. 🙂 I think it will be an issue for the Supreme Court because that’s the kind of matter where it can still have relevance.

  5. In my mean & evil moments – recycled piece of my texts…
“I am the Pan Galactic Space Emperor Ming XIII the All Mighty, visiting Earth on a temporary mission! I don’t just believe this, I really FEEL it! And by that, I demand protection for my beliefs by national and international laws. Anybody objecting is per definition racist, sexist, Nazi, blasphemer, heretic and committing lèse-majesté. What you believe you are, you feel that you are. And what you feel you are, you are. Not only for yourself, but for the rest of the world, and everybody else is obliged to play along. One example – a young artist felt he was called to save his people, unify it and make his country great and powerful again. After a period of struggle, he reached his first goal. But a conspiracy was started against him, and eventually he was driven to commit suicide along with his life partner, the CIS woman Eva Braun. It is a shame when a person’s beliefs are not respected!

  6. The same site wonders over the new security official in Ukraine:
“Ukraine officials have sparked controversy by giving a 24-year-old former model a top security job.
The appointment of Anastasia Deyeva as deputy interior minister drew allegations on social media that she had been appointed for her looks rather than her experience or abilities. The row has intensified since the discovery of nude online pictures of Deyeva.
“Is this really the most qualified candidate?” said one Ukrainian social media user. Another called her appointment at such a young age “insanity.”

My text: A former model has learned to be suspicious and not to be gullible. Yesterday, evil people and witches were portrayed as ugly for superstitious reasons. Today, for the same reasons, good looking people are branded as stupid. There is no hard genetic science backing up this. And as a woman getting an important security job in a country like Ukraine, is a real feat. More so as Ukraine is in war with a neighbor country that in a few years have built a new army from rusty junk to advanced state of the art ahead of the US Army.

  7. They come up with one red herring after another to keep us eternally distracted, lest anyone should ever get around to analyzing the real problems and dilemmas and figuring out any actual worthwhile solutions to any of them.
After all, life in society is supposed to be all about hardships and interpersonal discordance. It’s a long-standing tradition.
