The Acer Mystery

I just looked and my new laptop is called Acer. And I keep it right where Klara’s toys and art supplies are. (She’s very careful and never touches things she shouldn’t, so it’s safe).

But she can’t read, can she? She has known her letters since early Fall but surely she can’t read?

This is creepy.

P.S. I didn’t know my laptop’s brand because I didn’t buy it. I got it from a programmer in exchange for a gewgaw I was sent for review but found too gadgety for my purposes.

  1. I knew my letters shortly after turning two, and started understanding what letters did not all that long afterwards. It certainly could be a coincidence, it could be that she heard it discussed, even if you don’t remember the conversation, or it could be that she actually read it (though “Acer” isn’t exactly easy, with the soft “c” sound).

Usually when I am wondering about what comes out of my kids’ mouths, I try to casually ask them about it (“Oh, why do you like those names?”, in this case) and see what the answer is. It’s usually a pretty simple answer.

Unless, of course, you have a genius on your hands! 😉

    1. I asked her but she just giggled and looked coy. It’s so weird to realize that your kid has a mind of her own with things going on in it that you aren’t aware of. I always knew it on a logical level but it’s weird to discover it.
