Once, I went to bed and within several minutes fell asleep. It was July of 2014. I’ll never forget the experience. Went to bed and within literally minutes was asleep. Minutes, not hours. So weird.
Some people say it happens to them frequently. This is like a completely different lifestyle that I cannot even imagine.
Truly, it takes all kinds.
While I’ve never been a “minutes” guy, what made a night and day difference for me was keeping the house COOL at night (and getting a bamboo blanket, which is good if you run hot.) I went from having horrific insomnia my entire childhood to being able to fall asleep in maybe half an hour on a good night. I still toss and turn whenever I visit my parents (they seem to enjoy saunalike temperatures.)
This might not be a problem for you, but if you constantly feel hot at night, consider cranking up the A/C and/or changing up your bedding.

I often do this. But only because I know that if I go to bed at a reasonable hour, I will stay awake half the night, so instead I stay up and read until my eyes go buggy, and then go to bed– and wink right out because I’ve already reached the edge of sleep.
