Will They Debate?

That’s good news. N said that if there are no debates, he’s not voting at all, and I agree. If the candidates don’t respect us enough to debate, it’s not a real election.

    1. LOL.

The 2016 & 2020 elections cured me of thinking that actual information is relayed during these exercises.

You could look at party platforms and save hours of your life. Or devote that time to local races.

We have the wonderful choice between two elderly men who’ve had covid more than once* and for the really daring, another one with literal brain worms.

The entertainment value of these shouting matches has gone down.

What new information from debates do you hope to gather that you don’t already have and can’t get otherwise?

*pretty sure they both have cognitive impairments

      1. I haven’t heard Trump since 2020. I’m interested to hear what he’s offering. As for Biden, I’m interested in how he’ll address the race issue. The main danger of his second term is that he’ll go all out on race.

  1. Both candidates have agreed to debate. I don’t think it’s likely both will back out later (though of course, one could)

  2. rumor has it TeamBiden is insisting the debate take place in a closed studio, no audience… (so they can edit before airing without the risk of cellphone footage turning up later?)

  3. Wouldn’t you yourself call this reaction infantile? You’re throwing a temper tantrum and only hurting yourself. The consequences of the election will be very real regardless of your feeling disrespected.

“I haven’t heard Trump since 2020. I’m interested to hear what he’s offering.”You can hear from him via plenty of different media he uses all the time, including his rallies. And what does it matter what he offers? He previously offered a border wall paid for by Mexico. He just says stuff he thinks will sound good in the moment.

    1. Wanting to hear what candidates for politics office want to say is hardly a “temper tantrum.” It’s a normal behavior for people in a democratic country.

        1. I’m not seeing much difference between these candidates. The only thing I’ve found is that Biden is likely really to pedal the race issue after the short-lived lull of the past couple of years.

But then Trump isn’t likely to do anything about the BLM madness either.
