I’m becoming persuaded that women in Congress from both parties have been bribed by an organization promoting the idea that women are too stupid to be in politics. Or anywhere outside a seraglio.
And even after this, people will flock in droves to vote for the ditzy MTGs, AOCs, and all the rest of them.
Representative democracy only works if everybody is educated to at least some baseline level of civilized discourse and if norms of public behavior are collectively imposed. Once public education collapses and the very idea of civilized behavior and self-restraint is vilified, many people lose their only method of finding out that the disgraceful behavior we are seeing in Congress is not OK. As a result, they vote for the politicians who most closely mirror their own unchecked behavior.

Did you see the entire exchange between Green, AOC, and Crocket? It was so deeply embarrassing for all involved. But I think it’s more about age than gender. All politicians younger than 45 –of both parties– are just deeply embarrassing and lack propriety. (Although Trump also has no sense of propriety but he is an exception to his age group). You may not like Hilary Clinton or Nancy Pelosi but they never acted like this.

Oh come on! You can argue that Pelosi and Clinton are corrupt if you want. But they never acted like that. Never! And it’s not just women, here are two men threatening each other like kids. And it take Bernie Sanders to stop it. There is something generational going on.

This is pure cringe from women who should know better, I never talk like that and I’m from New Jersey 😄 But seriously, as a substitute I make it a point to speak carefully with a very standard American accent and not use slang or colloquialisms in front of the students or other teachers even if it makes me sound like a TV broadcaster.
The likes of AOC and MTG are embarrassing for women, period. These are Congresswomen in the House of Representatives and one is supposed to behave with a bit of gravitas in this position, acting like a redneck bimbo like MTG or a Latina bimbo like AOC should be unacceptable. If I lived in their districts, I’d vote for the other candidate because I don’t want these clowns representing me in Congress
