Inhuman

Russians successfully targeted the largest children’s hospital in Ukraine today.

These are very sick little kids and babies and the doctors treating them. Only absolute fucking animals would target a children’s hospital. And only absolute stinking weasels would justify it.

How vicious and insane should one’s anti-Americanism be to justify this horror? Because there’s no argument in defense of the Russian war that isn’t grounded in a hatred of America. Americans are supposed to have somehow provoked this viciousness, and that’s yet another blood libel leveled against our country.

  1. One blogger linked to wiki page Russian–Syrian hospital bombing campaign , saying bombing hospitals wasn’t new for Putin. Reminded me of reading how Hitler “just” transferred what was done to colonized populations to Europe.

    In an ironic twist, today:

A Russian court has convicted a theater director and a playwright of terrorism charges and sentenced them to six years each in prison …

Authorities claimed their play “Finist, the Brave Falcon” justifies terrorism (el: it’s about women who were persuaded to go be wives for ISIS fighters)

The women’s lawyers pointed out at court hearings before the trial that the play was supported by the Russian Culture Ministry and won the Golden Mask award, Russia’s most prestigious national theater award. In 2019, the play was read to inmates of a women’s prison in Siberia, and Russia’s state penitentiary service praised it on its website, Petriychuk’s lawyer said.

  2. “only absolute stinking weasels”

I keep thinking I can’t despise russia more than I do… and then those bastards do something that manages to set new records of contempt and hate…

As usual they were first proud and then we it occurred to them that the world doesn’t approve they’ve started to try create a narrative that it wasn’t them…. which is soooo predictable for those bastards.

    1. The largest children’s hospital in Europe. A maternity ward. And on and on. And this just today. And then Jake Sullivan comes out to say that no, there still won’t be a permission for a preemptive strike on Russian air bases. It’s like inhabiting an absolute nightmare.

  3. From his earliest statements justifying Russia’s invasion of Iraq, Mr. Putin has been damnably clever. They were almost word-for-word those Mr. George Bush Jr. used to justify the United State’s invasion of Iraq.

I haven’t read or viewed the current Putin- or putin-mouthpiece justifications for bombing that hospital, but I’d be willing to bet he uses the same words that the spox for the Bush crew did nearly 20 years ago.

I wonder if this go-round, the outrage at murdered children, and war-crime targets will stick.

    1. It’s all about proving that “if America can, then why can’t we?” for the Russians. Stupid obsessed wannabes that they are. Of course, any similarity is a product of their diseased brains but you are absolutely right. This is about proving something to America. Which makes the whole thing even worse.
