Embarrassment

Gosh, folks, in Biden’s situation, would you want to show your face in public or would you choose to stay away for a bit? It’s the most normal thing imaginable to want to make oneself scarce after something like this.

    1. “haven’t told him yet.”

I can understand wanting to not be in the spotlight but the last time he was seen publicly was…… when? They’re not doing anything to prevent or calm wild rumors (he’s dead, he’s in a coma, that’s not his signature, it’s against his willl etc)

I don’t believe those (I think) but hiding is not a good look (so to speak).

  1. He had Covid recently and that can leave much younger people feeling exhausted for weeks. He’s probably just sleeping 12 hours a day and trying to get back to normal.

I honestly wonder if the exhaustion of having Covid is what finally pushed him into stepping back from the election? I was so tired the first time I had it that I didn’t ever think I would ever be normal again.

      1. Everything is so weird. I don’t want to be conspiratorial. I want to give every benefit of every doubt. But isn’t this all really, really weird?

We were just talking with N about Yeltsin’s famous statement, “I’m leaving. I’m leaving, I’ve done all I could” when he suddenly left office. That was shady as hell but even then Yeltsin actually addressed his nation on TV. People saw him, heard him. Shouldn’t we be able to have at least that much in America?

        1. All I know is that I can’t watch the woman on video. Everything about her is deeply, deeply disturbing. She overemotes like a preschool music teacher. That is a really short clip, and I had to watch the video muted, and then go back and listen to the audio separate. Taken together, they open a rift in spacetime where the unwary get sucked into the realm of the elder gods and eaten with cocktail sauce.

I don’t know what any of that clip signifies to normies. It makes me want to run howling through the nearest fire exit, flapping my hands all the way, the cognitive dissonance is so overwhelming.

        2. …and yeah, I just want to get out with a megaphone to normies and ask for a show of hands on who all thinks the whitehouse pantomime game is weird and creepy and needs to stop already?

The only way to not notice, is to not look.

            1. That right there… I just feel way more autistic this past week than usual. There is something about normal-people neurology and social responses that’s being hacked somehow. I don’t know what it is, because I apparently don’t have it. Mine’s broken. This all looks insane puppetshow levels of weird. Why aren’t people seeing it?

Like, this type of thing makes me seriously reconsider my skepticism about the old claims that subliminal messaging is highly effective.

              1. I also always completely disbelieved the claims of subliminal messaging. But as you say, who knows? It does feel like many people are plugged into a channel to which one has no access.

What a relief that I’m not the only one!

It used to make me feel a little bad that I could not watch TV, and thus was permanently out of touch with common cultural reference points. I have never seen an episode of Seinfeld, or Friends. I sort of know what people are talking about, from collecting secondhand references.

Now? I think being shut out of mass culture is probably a net positive. I believe it is one of the avenues by which the public are hypnotized into apathy and compliance.

              3. I am a normie. Things are definitely not right. In a span of 8 days, one of the presidential candidates is shot at and the other one resigns via Twitter. The new democratic candidate is just… weird.

              4. @anon: well, yes. You’d think anyone would be able to notice how not-right all that is.

But it goes way past that: every communication (and in some cases, the bizarre lack of communication) coming from the white house and alphabet agencies lately is just… surreal.

This AM, found the bit of video that came before Kamala’s “we luuurve you, Joe” cringefest:

                https://x.com/CilComLFC/status/1815511485013016867

There’s some stuff that LEAPS out, but maybe you have to watch it the way I do.

                1. Watch it with the sound off. Just watch that lady’s face. I’m not a psychic, I don’t know what’s on her mind, but it sure as heck isn’t unadulterated joy at how well the president sounds. She is telegraphing all sorts of other things: worry, shame, discomfort. Maybe she’s just going through a stressful time at home, or maybe it’s related to the fact that she’s being recorded listening to some obviously bogus audio in front of a live audience and has to play along.
                2. Now go back and do the audio: The public is being asked to believe, here, that Biden, who even at his best is sort of mumbly and incoherent with an old-man whistle in his voice and reduced lung capacity– you can hear him chopping everything up into very short bits as his breath runs out– is so unwell he cannot be seen in public… but on conference call from his sickbed he sounds better, stronger, healthier, and more cogent than at his normal public appearances. I would think this strains credibility even with normal people, but I have seen no evidence of it.

I’m adrift here. I have theories about the why, but no idea if they actually apply. One of the neuro problems I live with is, I can only operate on one channel at a time: I can listen, OR I can look, but I can’t do both at once. I think on some level that must break whatever spell is being cast on people through video media. I get different information from it.

Here’s his week-old appearance in vegas for comparison:

              5. @methylethyl, I watched the video. You are correct, there is no real conversation with Biden, it comes across as prerecorded. The lady also seems not very interested in what is he saying, like she knows no interaction is expected of her. Taking pictures of the crowd with her cell phone was also strange. When I watched the clip with Kamala, my thoughts were that there was someone else speaking for Biden. Also, if he wanted to really show the support but could not come, why not send the first lady at least? The rally was in Delaware after all.

Oddly enough, the YouTube was showing me a dementia ad before the video of the full speech of Biden, which I found interesting.

I think they are just laughing at us at this point (whoever “they” are). The orchestrated reveal of Biden’s health problems, the assassination attempt by a man named Crooks (which I believe went not as expected by some miracle), the Twitter resignation and weird speaker phone calls, the Crowdstrike software update last week. It’s like they are testing how far they can push us, and the answer is “very far indeed” since no one really seems to care much.

P.S. The anon post from 8:37 am was mine. With the new interface it is easy to forget to add a name.

              6. If he can make phone calls, why can’t he record a short video for the nation?

Also, this fake flurry of “small donations” to Kamala’s campaign. Her campaign video that aired immediately after Biden’s Twitter announcement that he won’t run. Her yesterday’s late-night declaration that she has all the delegates she needs. One has to ask, how long has this been in the works? Was it timed to happen immediately after the RNC?

Most importantly, why are we being treated like complete idiots? Is it because we are?

FWIW, I think most of it is just normalcy bias. It is beyond most people’s capacity to see something weird, and interpret it as anything other than “oh that was weird… but we all have our moments, right?” and then push it from their minds, because recognizing the scope of the problem is too stressful. It is exactly the same situation as people who are totally blindsided when they find out their teenager is doing drugs, their spouse is cheating on them, their business partner is embezzling… the signs have been there for a very long time, but they’ve willfully avoided reading them, because the implications would require them to acknowledge that they’ve been betrayed and fooled (perhaps publicly, with a certain amount of humiliation in front of everyone– the longer they’ve been ignoring it, the greater the humiliation), and then take action that is unpleasant and requires courage and fortitude.

They’d rather be wrong about what they’re seeing, and helpless to do anything about it. Because that asks nothing uncomfortable of them. Just compliance.

              8. I didn’t pick up it was the national ice cream day when Biden resigned. What is it with these people and ice cream? Biden has a thing for it and so does Pelosi. Pope Francis has a thing for ice cream too. It’s strange.
Also, for me the entire Covid fiasco was a big eye opener. After that, I am much less likely to believe the circus is real. I find it very strange that most people went with it and still do (I personally know people who still mask and test on Covid, which I am confused about). Perhaps we should not be surprised the spell keeps working on other things as well.

              9. ice cream: maybe it’s something to do with all the drugs they’re on.

If I ate as much ice cream as these people seem to, I would weigh 300 pounds.

But it’s probably nothing a little adderall can’t fix.

This week on the Whitechaos…. VP Kamala has to help the very sick president prove that he’s healthy with a “phone call”. While things work out or will she dial a wrong number? Meanwhile the head of the secret service faces the music while standing on a slightly slanted roof.

“In my book the PoV would either be the last honest non-DEI hire at the Secret Service who gets a couple bad ass fight scenes before the action finale set piece. But since this particular book is clearly being written by a dork who burned out his brain with too much cocaine who now struggles with writing good characters and satisfying conclusions, like Stephen King, then it’ll probably be something lame. Like a fake heart attack, food poisoning, autoerotic asphyxiation, or hell… give him Covid. Lol. If we’re going absolute ham fist, the left would love that storyline. It has come FULL CIRCLE.”

Words cannot describe how fatiguing this self-sabotage is. Every single time this happens. Every single time. Republicans will do everything to sell Kamala as tough on crime precisely when voters are desperate for… tough on crime.

Let’s now criticize her for being against mass migration v that will be deeply helpful, I’m sure. To Kamala.

      1. I think it’s more like he had zero chance of winning against trump. If he did, they’d keep up this charade for as long as it takes. Everyone knew; the reporters who work closely with the white house, the party establishment, the donors. Everyone. He had no chance, so he had to go.

This is why Pelosi/Obama/Schumer haven’t endorsed Kamala yet. Why depose a president only to install a more retarded version of him? Obama’s calling for an open convention lol.

Once more, US politics resembles professional wrestling…. this whole thing looks like pro-wrestling storyline… they’re taking the strap (belt) from the champion that’s drawing smaller houses and trying to put a new champ over…

I’m reminded of the introduction of the Honky Tonk Man in the 1980s…. originally supposed to be a babyface (good guy) crowds hated his Elvis impersonator persona and were loudly booing so they did a heel turn (made him a bad guy)….

I realize real life can be messy and crazy but…. it seldom looks this awkward and faked…
