We are in the stage of parenting where we segue very seamlessly from “You are making split pea soup, Mommy??? You know that I hate split pea soup!!!! If you loved me you’d never make split pea soup!!! I do not feel loved in this family!!!! My life is not fun any more!” into “Mommy, can I have a fourth bowl of split pea soup because it’s my favorite soup?”
It is excellent soup, by the way.
ha that’s so funny. I texted my cousin this evening to ask for her split pea soup recipe which I love. I have made many different versions and I can’t chose a favorite. I would love to see your version.
I unfortunately cannot cook it very often because it can’t be served as the family meal as my youngest is allergic to split peas/lentils and my husband has trouble processing pulses these past few years. I have to be seriously craving it to cook the soup in addition to whatever we are having for dinner.
I’m glad it worked out for you and Klara. Just this week my daughter had thirds on a dish she complained so much about the last time I made it I honestly didn’t cook it again for well over a year. She told me I needed to make this chicken all the time and wouldn’t believe me when I told her she hated it the last time I cooked it! I am enjoying so much about the “pre-teen” stage but the mood swings are tough.
