A Narrow Escape

This makes me want to do something extremely nice for my husband and child for not inflicting something like this on me. I’m not inflicting it on them either, so they must really appreciate me, as well.

  1. Completely in agreement with you: I hate crowds, noise, and find that kind of group socializing exhausting.

But also think the poster is doing good– I’m an abnormal minority, normal people apparently need this in their lives, and I commend them for trying to revive healthy community πŸ™‚

    1. That’s how I grew up. People constantly staying over, sleeping on the floor. We once went on “vacation” with 10 people, two of them actively pooping babies, in one room. I still have nightmares about it. But everybody else loved it, the weirdos.

  2. I mean, in my corner of the country, 10+ kids playing here is just having my and my brother’s family in the same house; we used to have 3-4 other families over once a month and that would end up being about 35 kids. So it’s sometimes just normal socializing.

It’s true that default “teens hang out with friends on the weekend” kinda died with covid, so we’ve made efforts to bring back a normal social life for our teens.
