A Simple Explanation

Did you hear that medal winners at the winter Olympics were given plushies in addition to medals?

Matt Walsh had a whole segment about why it was done but never mentioned the explanation that to me is obvious.

Corruption.

One of the organizer has a relative who sells plushies. This was a way to kick back a large sum ostensibly in payment for the toys.

The only reason the olympics still exist is for the many chances for lots of mid level bureaucratics to engage in corruption.

They serve no other real purpose.

  2. I’m so disconnected from the culture of ‘today’ that I didn’t even know what ‘plushies’ were. Had to look it up to see if I should get upset. I guess it would be considered corruption if the ‘plushies’ were sold to the government. But maybe they were given to the government to be given to the hockey team. I don’t know?

    1. My kid is 10, and we are still all about plushies. Or stuffies, which is the same thing.

My mom asked me today if Klara is into boys yet, and I said, mom, for God’s sake, she sings lullabies to her plushie arctic fox she’s had since age 4.
