In Donostia

I’m in San Sebastián, selfying from the hotel balcony.

I’ve been here for three seconds, and it’s already my favorite part of Spain. It’s not hot! The scenery on the way here is stunning. And it’s not hot! The architecture is very dignified. And it’s not hot! My niece tried a pintxo and was overwhelmed with how good it was. And it’s not hot here at all!!!

More tomorrow.

    1. “How performative.”

And how politically astute. This will get “her” at least as many new votes as that Middle-America video that she made enjoying a beer with her husband.

  1. Now you can practice Basque? I like this place too, snappy sea breeze in summer, and the villages Ondarribi and Santillana del Mar. Spain is so great.

  2. Great photograph as expected from you, Clarissa: Obviously taken with digital media since every object in the image from the near-focus flowers on your dress to the distant background trees at infinity-focus are equally sharp (not possible with present-technology 35 mm color analog film) — but technology can’t answer the burning question about both your expression and that comparable “Mona Lisa” painting:

ARE YOU SMILING AT YOUR READERS, OR ARE YOU FLASHING US A SUBTLE SMIRK??

(I realize that bedtime in Arizona equates to wake-up time in San Sebastián, so I’ll expect your response some hours later while I’m asleep, assuming that you condescend to answer my sincere but insignificant question at all. Goodnight! )
