Should Anti-semitic Speech Be Punished?

Meanwhile in Texas:

The Governor’s Executive Order requires that all higher education institutions in Texas review their free speech policies to establish appropriate punishments for antisemitic rhetoric on college and university campuses, ensure that policies that address the sharp rise of antisemitic acts are enforced, and include the definition of antisemitism in free speech policies.

With Republicans like Abbott, why do we even need Democrats? This is a step in the direction of punishing people for not chanting BLM slogans loudly enough. No speech should be banned or punished. No speech should be equated to action. The moment you start banning any speech, you have created the conditions to have your own speech banned.

  1. Only when Jewish assimilation and intermarriage – punished. Oh antisemitism the direct result of Jewish assimilation and intermarriage! Jews repeat assimilation and intermarriage and Goyim repeat pogroms and Shoah. Measure for measure.

    1. Ah, now I understand why the union has been sending out strings of messages since morning about the VIOLENT persecution of PEACEFUL protesters. Doing damage control for the bastards. Makes sense.

        1. Well, to be fair, the young lady was committing a genocide against them by existing. It was only self-defense on the part of the mob.

      1. eh, but if it’s a “student” protest, it helps to seed it with people who don’t care what a violent criminal record might do to their future employment prospects.

  5. One American university prof I’m reading has also asked who is paying, especially when many arrested have zero connection to those universities:

    1. Russian speakers think everything is for sale. It’s a very obvious projection.

I’ve known people who organize and attend these protests. They are very sincere, very dedicated, they live in penury in spite of often being wealthy. They give everything to the cause.

We do ourselves no favors by discounting the absolute sincerity of these people. I also need to add that these are normally extremely kind people who are massively beloved in their communities. It’s impossible to say anything against a person who spent 20 years living the life of charitable self-sacrifice.

Russian speakers will never get this because they have no such people among them since they were exterminated in 1937.
