I don’t think this Comey letter had any impact on the results of the election, though. The people who were impacted by this ridiculous story about Wiener’s computer were looking for any excuse to vote Trump anyway. They would have found that excuse not matter what. To hell with them.

Hey, so what, Comey ended the investigation of Hillary’s emails again? I wonder how many more times he can open and close it before the election.

I now want to hear all of the people who kept fatiguing me with endless “if I’d done what Hillary did, I would be fired” tell me what consequences they’d experience at work if they kept fucking it up as bad as Comey.

Klara’s grandparents have driven through miles and miles of Trump country, freaking out over every Trump sign on the way. After they arrived, we took Klara out for a walk around the neighborhood.

When the grandparents finally saw a Clinton / Kaine sign, they started waving and making power salutes at the lady who was driving out of that house’s garage.

The lady stopped next to us and asked if our joy was a result of the Hillary sign.

“We are with her! We are with her!” we chanted.

” Let’s go win this thing on Tuesday!” the lady said. 

It was a very good moment.

I think this story got lost in the Link Encyclopedia but it’s important and I want to make sure everybody sees it.

A St. Louis police was called to an apartment where the body of a dead man was found. The man had died of a drug overdose, it seems. The officer in question found nothing better to do than to pose next with the body with a huge grin while grabbing the hand of the deceased black man and doing a thumbs-up for the camera.

The police can’t explain what the heck he was doing and how the photo ended up being leaked. They don’t know what happened to their crime scene camera at all.

This is a big story right now in St. Louis because we have a very high crime rate and the kind of police force that is managing to do nothing of use about it. Because mocking victims is how they spend their time instead of doing their jobs.

Our Klara has already experienced two time changes, and what’s extremely strange is that her schedule adapts to the new time immediately. I have no idea how this works but she woke up today at her usual time and ate and went down for a nap exactly according to the regular schedule. Even though the time on the clock is one hour behind the time we’ve had for 6 months.

This means that we could benefit from the extra hour of sleep, which is something I hear many people with small children miss.

I hate sliced bread but I saw people play this game somewhere on another blog, and it was lots of fun. People exchange ideas on which cool products they find extremely useful.

My best thing since sliced bread is not only very cheap and extremely durable but also super useful.

This little $7 thingy helps me dry my crazy mop of hair without having to create huge and uncomfortable towel castles on my head that keep trying to slip off. ( I don’t use blow dryers and let my hair dry overnight instead.)

I’m sorry,  folks, I don’t have much of interest to say today. Klara is unwell, and I’m all about that. She had a low-grade fever yesterday. Today, the fever is gone but I can see she’s still uncomfortable. She’s drooling up a storm, like nothing I’ve seen before. And she seems to be uncomfortable in her mouth.

The first thing that occurs to one is teething, especially since she’s about to turn 9 months. But here’s the thing: I’m not seeing any teeth contours under her gums. The gums don’t look swollen or unusual. 

She’s had a cold (we saw a pediatrician for that this week), so maybe it’s a sore throat.

That’s all I’ve got for now.

Canadian government wants to triple the country’s population to 100 million over the next 90 years. In order to do that, they will ramp up their extremely successful “Professional Immigration” program. ( It’s the program that brought me to Canada, by the way.) 

450,000 of highly educated people with a good knowledge of English and French and enough money to self- fund will be admitted annually.
This is a brilliant plan. I’m shocked that the government of the silly Trudeau fellow thought of something so smart. With the global warming, more and more of Canada’s enormous territory will become habitable, and it makes sense to fill it with people who will push the country far ahead of competition. 

This is one of the things that weakened national governments can do to preserve legitimacy: anticipate the trends of the future and ride them. It’s great to see that somebody is thinking long term and doesn’t get stuck on the trivial electoral needs of the next 5 minutes.

All stores are filled with Christmas decorations and the discounted remnants of Halloween stuff. It’s like Thanksgiving has been wiped out. I wanted to refresh my stock of Thanksgiving decorations but there’s nothing at all. I love Thanksgiving. WTF?
