Too Russian 

Whenever I cook anything except borscht that contains cabbage, N complains that the house smells too Russian.

  1. LOL! Does this hold for both sweet and pickled cabbage? All of continental Europe has many pickled cabbage dishes that I would say ring German or Polish more than anything else. Pickled cabbage leaves stuffed with beef and rice, simmered with sausages and bacon — yum!

        Sorry to scare you!
        That’s my favorite fall/winter dish, I make it 1-2 times per year, one time for DH’s birthday in late November. As you know, it’s labor-intensive, so I make a large batch at a time and then we eat for days.
