  1. Semi-OT: I just found out today that the German whose killing by two migrants set off protests in Chemnitz was a half-Cuban and involved in antifascist work, hardly someone whose death will inspire neonazis to action (beyond celebration).

Also, the Attorney General of Saxony (as of yesterday) said there was no evidence of crowds hunting people and there were no photos or videos supporting claims of such.

      • That’s very good news. Because that was the disturbing part of the accounts. Now, if this didn’t happen yet many of the leading news outlets over here reported it as real and talked about it at length, including teary interviews from witnesses, this can only mean the narrative is serving a purpose. This sounds very similar to the recent ridiculous “hundreds of thousands neo-Nazis march in Poland” reports. Those I knew were stupid from my own sources. But I have no credible sources on Germany.

Andrew Hammel has consistently been the best writer in English on German migration policy for the last few years. He shut down an old blog devoted just to the topic as basically every single gloomy prediction he made came true and Germans reluctantly started facing the truth. He doesn’t write about migration much anymore (preferring German cultural trivia as a topic) but when he does he’s pretty good. He also posts a lot on facebook and worth following there.
Here’s a fun post about zombie jobs and institutions in Germany.

        1. Ah, thank you! One can only get reliable commentary from regular folks writing on their own blogs. Everything else is ridiculous spin.

Last week, I had a Canadian acquaintance ask me with a tragic face how we are bearing up here in Nazi land where immigrants like us are in mortal danger. Poor guy has been reading too many news.
