Today my students are convinced that Communists and fascists fought on the same side in the Spanish Civil war. 😦

Following the US politics is enough to make anybody a passionate socialist, so I hope that the number of these students grows.

Me to my students, in my advanced French class: De qui vous méfiez-vous?

    Student 2: Moi aussi.

I am, but I wish I were happier, to be honest. I find it very difficult to shut my mouth before getting tenure. You see, it is the first time in my life that I have to be very careful with what I say, and to whom I say it.

It’s kind of hard to explain to some USA residents that socialists aren’t Communists. And we believe in republics, but not Republicans! 🙂 It confuses the poor dears.
